Synergy Dental Associates reviews hundreds of resumes . We have put together a little information for the job seeker who would love an opportunity at a Quality Dental Office.
Objective: The most common mistake made in writing objective statements is being too general and vague in describing either the position desired or your qualifications. For example, some objective statements read like this: An internship allowing me to utilize my knowledge and expertise in different areas. Such an objective statement raises more questions than it answers. What kind of internship? What knowledge? What kinds of expertise? Which areas? Be as specific as possible in your objective statement to help your readers see what you have to offer "at a glance."
Paper: Studies have found that most resume’s content is more important than the presentation. Paper choice has some importance, but do not let it be the only great part of the resume.
The font: Here is your chance to stun a potential office. Your qualifications are awesome. Your attendance record is outstanding. Don’t negate it all with a trendy, unprofessional font. Traditional font is the most accepted font for resumes.
Content: Listing every single allocated job is not usually the apple that catches they eye. Be direct and to the point. If you order supplies, mention it, no need to mention the suppliers. If you did 30 minute prophies, mention it, this may be something a potential office is looking for. If you are a team player, mention it, most offices require teamwork for success.
Dates of prior employment: If your longest held position is not more than three months, this may be a great time to get a little experience. Most offices always refer to your previous job history when deciding on hiring a new team member.
References: Synergy Dental Associates checks prior employment references. Including three professional references with phone numbers on your resume, even if it they were in a non-related field of work, gives the opportunity to hear about your work ethic.
